I remember there being a big drama when nervy suggested they were "a bit shit" on PH.

Death threats etc.

Never even been in one but from what I've read they sound a bit tiring.

I can't offer anything to this except that my wife once parked our touareg on the roof of one.

The small Frenchman driving was a little miffed.

They do seem tempting. Classic layout, a bit of power, rear wheel drive, fun (ish), relatively cheap.

I sat in one at the Nissan dealer once. I know, my crazy life eh ?

Things against -
1. Do Nissan make shite sports cars ?
2. Plastiky interior exterior.
3. Potential for abuse from previous low-rent owners

No. I think that saved him.

Apparently the 'beepers' were too slow.

A PH'er in I met in Singapore had an utterly mental Cosworth engined one that was very good fun to be in. Don't know if a vanilla one would be the same as that as I've not been in one.

I had one when I lived in the US.

Nice car, good fun, lovely sound.
Comfortable interior - i had the convertible which was nice (especially in California)

Negatives were the clutch (I had a manual) which was very heavy.
I burnt one out in 6000 miles... but this may have been a result of America's insistence on driving on the wrong side of the road and all the important equipment being on the left hand side of the car which made me drive funny !

The boot (trunk) space was ridiculously small.
I used to have to ask the wife to get taxi's to the airport when traveling home as anything other than the smallest suitcase wouldn't fit !

It wasn't overly fast either but this never bothered me.

Nope, not yet.

I want a comfortable, grunty cruising thing.

Space and outright speed is not so much of a concern.

A mate had one. He picked it up and drove straight to Bedford for a trackday where he thoroughly enjoyed many laps of sideways action.

He kept it for about six months. I suspect it was a bit one-dimentional.

The early ones with the V6 out of a vel satis were prone to their engines drinking a shit load of oil then exploding weren't they? I think the Evo one had 2 engines. The later ones had a different engine iirc. I like them, the interiors doo look horribly plasticy though and not even as nice as my ancient hyundai coupe.

Looking at the performance figures, 0-60 in 5.6s or more, they're a bit lazy for a car with 300 bhp.
Must be a fat bastard. (wikipedia says up to 1.6 tonnes ish)

Ads on PH for 350z at under £10k, but the newer 370z at around £20k.
3.0 Z4 coupes seem to be a bit cheaper, and I think I'd prefer one.
