Typical Rugby or Cricket fan. Wearing a Rugby shirt I do believe.

I’ve got a spiffing ‘football song’ to sing in the hostelries, showing the Wendyball on their televisions. It’s especially funny if the establishment is full of grumpy, jealous, ‘other home nations’ types.

Sung jauntily, to the tune of ‘She’ll be coming round the mountain’. It goes thusly.

Oh England are in Russia scoring goals.

The Welsh are in Llandudno playing bowls.

The Scottish have gone fishing.

The Irish team are missing.

but England’s still in Russia scoring goals.

It’s a jolly jape, and no mistake.

Ironically, I’d forgotten the video featured a Max Wall impersonator, who I’m sure I heard was a regular at a pub I used to drink at in SE London before he died.

Does that pass the irony test?

I’ve wondered for a while if BH was just DDD in a mask.

Think I’ll just mute him too tbh.

Anyway, back to the football.

Brazil out: wow!
France in: good!

Hopefully there will be some favourable results today.

Man, I’m bored of Football’s Coming Home already. Always thought it was a rather dull tune, the point of the song was that football was coming home as we were hosting the Euros in 1996.

So, alternative World Cup songs please.

Given the number of Spurs players in the squad, I’l go with Tottenham Tottenham by Chas and Dave.

The Semi is England vs Croatia. That’s a bye to the final, unless the entire England squad get Novichok poisoning.

You can supposedly get to Russia without a Visa to watch the football, but getting tickets is a pain in the rear.

No, I take the point, but one good tournament doesn't mean Football has come home.

And it's still a shit song.

It is on most levels, but people like it, it's easy to sing, let them have their simple pleasures.

#1 daughter is in Switzerland overnight on Wednesday on a school trip. Anyone know a way she can watch it on her phone as the iPlayer apps are geo-locked ?

Won't it be showing on a tv where she is staying? Being a semi-final and everything.
