Knee cnut

Post by deev @ Tue Dec 03, 2013 1:51 am

Blown it out again. There's still no movement when the physio hauls it about but the doc at the club reckons its just because I have really strong muscles around my knees holding it all together. Next up is a visit to my GP to sort out an MRI and if its as suspected, get my knee rebuilt because I've more than likely blown out my cruciates. It's swolen up like a blimp just now though, 4 days after I actually did it.

Work are going to fcuking love this :s

Also, that means at least another year out of competition, I'll be 33 by the time I get to compete again at best :(

Shame, I'd call it a day if I were you, maybe still do the sport but give up on serious competition (or become an undercover cop and get paid to learn to surf). Do you run the risk if you keep damaging it then they won't be able to fix it up again, and if you live as long as your grandmother you'd face 59 years of hirpling about the place?

A bloke i work with is some kind of judo 'i'm top of the rankings in some old blokes category' and he snapped his ligaments or tendons or something. He had to have surgery and was off work for weeks (which nice for us cos he's a total bellend.)

He wasn't allowed to compete for months but he might be back doing it now. He did say though thst one more dodgy fall and it would be game over for him.

Hope your knee heals quickly!

Wanks. I've still not been to a doctor yet, the swelling has finally gone down though and I can kneel down again and run etc. I need to get to my GP and get a referral for an MRI but I havent got the time just now. Should be loads of time post Christmas though.

Finally got a date for this, it's getting fixed on the 27th of Feb, should have been before Christmas but the surgeon spazzed himself so there was a back log, which tirned out to be rather handy because I was busy getting married anyway. Now I get to sit about the house for a few weeks and get looked after. Ace!

Im currently at home with my knee up and a new ACL in it, apparently there was some issue with using my hamstring so they've used a chunk of my patella tendon. I have cocodemol which is nice. I had oxycontin briefly before they KO'd me, no wonder folk get hooked on that stuff, it was amazing! Anyway, swimming pool rehab starts on monday, fun fun.

Sorry to hear about your painful knee and all but as dibs says can you reduce the image above (crop it) so your groinal region isn't in the frame.

The swelling is still kinda massive, it looks like a wonky sausage. Hydro therapy today which I assume is going to hurt like a beeatch :s

as anyone had staples out? MIne come out on the 1th and I assume it's going to hurt a fair bit? Ive only ever had stitched before.

Had my first hydro therapy today, piece of piss, 95 degree bend already and I can fully straighten it, my other leg bends 140 odd degrees so got a bit of work to do there. It feels loads better already though and the pool helps a lot with confidence to bend it and stuff. I have a feeling I'm going to recover too quickly and will have to fake it a bit so the wife keeps letting me off with chores and keeps making me my tea :D

Oh yeah, the bruising is starting to come through now, my foots going a rather spectacular purple colour, I have it on good authority my whole leg will look like a wonky aubergine shortly.
