Tkf - golden state

Post by stuart @ Fri Mar 25, 2016 2:27 pm

They have a real shot at 72-10 dont they?

What steph curry is doing this season is remarkable. I read that in shots between 35 and 52 feet his efficiency is so good that it's working out better than if most players took a two!

To think that in this era someone has a chance at bulls record and its not a lebrob team!

They're so incredible to watch this year. As a unit they run rings around pretty much everyone. No egos messing up the game, everyone doing their job with the splash brothers ruining the opposition. The passing is going to be a lesson for kids in how to play the game.

Curry's numbers are just gobsmacking. He recently passed Magic Johnson's number for 3pts. As in he passed Magic's career number for 3's in 60 something games this season. When he put up that game winner vs OKC from 40ft you expected it to go in. Watch Adams(?) on the bench as the shot goes up. He lifts his hands as if to "Well if you're gaining to let him shoot from there!" http://youtu.be/GEMVGHoenXM

He's messing with our minds. Just a normal looking guy and a nice one to boot.

We were obviously alive for the Bulls record but barely got to follow it. Now with Game Time and various internet stuff we can watch all of those wins and get in depth coverage. I love it.

Did you see this thing about Curry and Nike? Such a balls up by Nike. In a PowerPoint presentation they accidentally left in Durrant's name from a previous pitch. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15047 ... rry-armour

Historic.

Sniper was over in US recently for the March Madness and went to see some NBA game including GSW. Even the warm up was awesome.

Stuart are you caught up with the playoffs so far?

  • SPOILER: Mouse over to reveal
    • Curry's comeback last night was just incredible. Warriors with Curry have championship written all over them. Warriors without Curry and I reckon Cavs take the final in 5

Yes, incredible. He outscored the Blazers in OT by himself.

If Curry stays healthy then yeah I reckon they win it all. I dont think the Cavs are that impressive looking really, I would take both GS and the Spurs over the Cavs. Even without Curry I reckon GS would push the Cavs to 6 or maybe even 7. Klay really seems to step up when Curry is out, but he's streakier. What will help the Cavs is how easy there road to the Finals will be.

Golden State v Spurs in the WCF is going to be a brilliant matchup!

Will make for a rubbish final though.

Cavs v OKC is Cavs in 5.

Do you think if Cavs dont win the championship Lebron leaves?

I think his contract is up this year, could go back to Miami?

What's for him in Miami? Blood clot and Wade. Better future in Cleveland with Love and Kyrie.

That said who knows what the hell LeBron will do? I saw a tweet recently after his flop which said something like "LeBron can be the strongest or the weakest guy on court depending on his mood"

I know it didn't count but holy shit...

GS might deal with the cavs a bit easier. Cavs don't have the length that OKC had or a point guard that curry has to chase around.

Cavs dont have the supporting players of okc either, plus home court. GS in 5.

It was certainly a turning point. However he was there G6 & 7 and other than a hot half last night he couldn't stop the MVP.

The Block. Such a huge moment in Finals history.

Just read this. Holy shit indeed.

This is funny if it's true

Sam Amico on twitter wrote:One NBA team exec who says he was previously interested in trading for Andrew Bogut texts he's no longer interested. "I'm not helping them."

I also liked this week that Hassan Whiteside went from a salary of 1yr ~$900,000 to 4 yrs $98m. That's quite a jump!

I read also that TIm Duncan is close to choosing to retire. If Duncan retires I think that will be the last of the players that I grew up watching. Having to order VHS tapes delivered weekly to get games before there was regular coverage on TV and then league pass.

Guys like Jordan, TImmy, Shaq, TMac, Penny, Grant Hill, Kevin Garnett, Olajuwan, Kobe, Mourning, Ewing, John Stark, TIm Hardaway, Reggie Miller, Gary Payton, STockton, Malone, Majerle, Rodman, Kemp, Mutombo.

They're all gone. I think Timmy is the last of them :(

This is a good read

Makes me want to order a box of cards but they'd only end up in the bin.

I’d originally thought this was going to be a thing I did with my sons; we’d open up the packs, and I’d talk to them about how I’d done the same thing with my dad when I was close to their age, talk to them about some of the players in some of the packs, make some comparisons to NBA players they know about now from the games we’ve watched together, on and on. It was going to be very dope. But then one of the boys opened up one of the packs a little too aggressively and ended up bending a Joe Wolf card and I was like, “OK, you know what, never mind. You guys gotta get away from me right now.” I mean, those weren’t the literal words that came out of my mouth, but you get it. My blood turned black when it happened. And I don’t even like Joe Wolf. I don’t even know who Joe Wolf is. But you can’t unbend a card, dude. What if it would’ve been a Dominique Wilkins card or a John Stockton card or a Larry Bird card or, heaven forbid, a David Robinson card? If one of them had bent a David Robinson card — man, best-case scenario is that I just never love that kid fully again. Worst-case scenario is now I have to have a very long conversation with the adoption agency about what sort of home I’m hoping he lands in. So get away from me.

Duncan has had an incredible career. Such a modest down to earth guy. No ego. His outgoing salary was something like 5m this season. Compare that to some of the numbers over the weekend like Mozgov getting 4x15 and Solomon fcuking Hill with 4x13m.

Evan Turner got 4/75. I remember in his rookie year there was talk that he might not be good enough to be in the league. And yet, 4/75. THat's for someone who's career numbers are 10.7 pts / 3.8 assists / 5.2 reb and 0.8 steals.

4/75

Ken Bazemore who averages, for his career, 6.4 pts, 1.3 assists, 2.7 reb, 0.8 steals got 4/70.

Next year Cleveland will have Lebrons full rights and can offer him 5 years for between $200 and $205 million. With raises in 2019-20 he would be the leagues first $40m per season player.

Teeks, seen this?

Entire last possession got wiped and the three taken away

Should have went to overtime, but they went back and checked the clock afterwards, turned out the clock started wrongly when the Raptors player caught it, not when Cousins tipped it on the inbound pass. They worked out the time it took to go from Cousins finger tips to Ross' hands was more than 0.4, which is what was on the clock when he shot it.

So if the clock had started correctly, the clock would have expired before he shot it. Therefore they took the shot away!

Such a bullshit call. Don't think I've ever seen this happen before!

At worst they should have just replayed the possession.

:hehe:

Phoenix got a semi uncontested layup to reduce the deficit to 48 and so Pop called a timeout to talk it over with his team.

His team that is up 48 in the 4th quarter....

I'd quite like to see Lebron on the lakers. The Lakers being bad feels wrong. But even with lebron they aren't contending. So I doubt he goes there.

I'd like to see him on the Spurs, but I don't think he fits.

Milwaukee with Giannis ? That could be a team.
OKC ? I don't know if they can pay him given the salaries tied up in teh current roster.
New York is out because they are just completely disfunctional.

I think the only team he can realistically go to that will be a contender with Golden State is Houston...

I don't see him leaving Cleveland though, you can't leave the same team twice... Surely. It would look so bad that as soon as things get hard, he jumps ship.

I know what you mean about Lakers. I’m a Celtics fan and there is no joy watching those games now with them being so dire.

If they don’t get him the right bits he’ll definitely leave Cleveland. And it’s tough to get him the right bits as he might still leave. Next year Cavs are going to be trash.
