Well if either of you do get them the least you can do is offer the rest of us some discounted rates on a new driveway.

I just tried to drive with my foot resting on the clutch.
It would be extremely uncomfortable and probably why they put a FOOT REST next to the clutch.

Well the little bastard is playing up again.

Drove it to the warehouse this morning. Restarted it after 30 mins and the yellow engine warning light lit up.
Something to do with emissions.

It drives perfectly.

Every cloud has a silver lining: I can now burn it and that fvcking Vespa with the same 5 litres of petrol.

Just give it a tank of premium fuel then get it up to temperature and take it for a bit of a thrash. That normally cleans up the emissions quite well. You could stick a bottle of that Redex stuff in the tank too.

I took it for a thrash last night although it was on Asda 95 petrol as 98 wasn't available. It's run on this and other 95 many times without problem. It'd be nice to think your suggestion would solve it but my luck isn't that good. I shall try it but it'll have to wait as the tank is 3/4 full.

Is there a product over your way called Dipetane? I'm convinced it's helped me through the last couple of emissions tests.

I'm not happy about adding anything to it as it would give the bastards at Audi an excuse to invalidate the warranty.

I shall some 98 octane and an Italian tune up first then I'll book it into Audi if that doesn't work.

How the fcuk would the bastards know anything about it being added? Stick half a liter of it into a half tank of fuel and do your Italian tune up. It's what I do before the test.

During the year I add 100ml per full tank of fuel. You can notice the extra mpg.

Took it to Audi Bridgend today. They tell me it's an intake manifold sensor failure and thankfully it's covered under warranty.

They were also shocked that my clutch hadn't been covered by the warranty.
Pity I hadn't used them.

Audi uk didn't want to know.
They "don't get involved in disputes between franchises and customers"
I know. Don't even waste a second thinking about it.

My hopes at the moment are with the Motor Ombudsman but they are understaffed and overwhelmed so it's going to take some time.

Ooh! Update.

Engine management light fixed after 5 days of fvcking about.
Drove it to Italy and when I got there it was pissing out petrol all over the engine because some auditech had cut through the injector feed pipe. Duly fixed by a local mechanic in Italy- whilst smoking a cigar so it couldn't have been that dangerous.

CLUTCH NEWS!!!!

Just had the lab report back from Elite Inspections- It shows the fingers on the clutch pressure plate are uneven and it's impossible that driver error could have contributed to the failure. The component is faulty.

FVCK YOU AUDI CARDIFF!

The ombudsman will be in touch with you shortly.

Good to know that Italy at least is still OK.

I too have had the pissing petrol all over the engine thing; didn't realise what was going on until it started coming out round the edges of the bonnet, by which time it had leaked about 3 gallons and when I opened the bonnet to see what was going on the cloud of concentrated petrol vapour fair knocked me back. Figured that if it hadn't gone up in the last 10 miles it wasn't going to go up in the last 400 yards home, closed the bonnet and finished the journey.

And yeah, I don't have a problem with smoking while I do stuff with petrol, nor with chucking the fag end in the bucket of dirty petrol to put it out.

Sounds like your mechanic is a thoroughly decent chap and the sort of person I would get on with.

UPDATE

TMO have received a response from Cardiff Audi.

They would normally .... no no wait.... you have to read the email.......

We are in receipt of the business’ response to your claim and the matter will be subject to review in full in due course.
We usually try to do this within the 15 working days specified but this is not always possible and due to a high demand of our service it is pushing back our ability to meet this time frame.
I want to give your case my full attention and so in order to do this I ask your patience whilst I allocate due time to review the files within the 90 days from the business’ date of response we are bound to deliver our decision in.

UPDATE!

Cardiff Audi have responded. It's laughable. One of the things was, "There is extreme wear on the carpet caused by the drivers heel resting on the floor while he feathers the clutch which caused it to fail"

I have responded.
No. The wear is a semi circle from 9 to 6 o'clock which means my foot was leaning to the left - on the foot rest. Also when you push the clutch pedal to it's un-bite point my heel is raised off the floor. So your statement actually proves I wasn't feathering the clutch.

Also the clutch started failing at 13k miles, it's now done 26k. Why hasn't it failed again? Also why didn't it fail on my Golf R?

Oh and they state that the engineers report is only an "opinion". Yes, he's an expert, so it's an "expert opinion" backed up by laboratory test evidence.

Their stupidity is staggering. Hopefully the Ombudsman is not as thick because if I do a small claims thing I'm not sure how the court would look upon it being already denied.

Gregg! What do you think?

I'm beginning to feel your pain ID, being embroiled in a 'situation' with the dealer who sold me my car recently, then crashed it 3 days later while it was back with them for a minor fettling. Their subsequent repair is risible, though they have agreed to do it again. I'm not hopeful of a significantly better job 2nd time round, and can foresee things getting dispute-y.

Fooked clutch after 12k miles is absolute madness.

How frustrating. Main dealer?

I wonder how commonplace it is when selling cars to the elderly though, like this case.

Should another question be, "why does my premium brand car have extreme carpet wear after so few miles?".

It's going to look like a string vest after 80k.
