Alfa Stelvio

Post by Il Duce @ Tue Mar 13, 2018 10:18 am

Well Hertz gave me a bright blue Stelvio in Milan last weekend. Diesel 4x4.

On the motorway it had a continuous little shimmy. On the mountain roads it crashed into potholes despite being on the smallest wheels and tallest tyres and rolled like a pig no matter what you did to the DNA suspension settings. The auto headlights were useless- they either didn't dip or would wait 20 seconds to go onto full beam after a car passed. AND you couldn't overirde them manually. Also the auto wipers were shit. Inside it was tiny, outside it was massive and you couldn't see the front corners so driving it on small mountain roads was a challenge. The rear parking camera only used 1/3rd of the centre screen and was useless. The seats gave me a bad back.

Good bits? The electric tailgate.
Um.

That's it. I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me.

What a shame.
I don't even like these to lok at either, surprisingly. Its almost like someone in Alfa has said "Oh, okaaaay then. If we must have an SUV. Get those YTS kids to make us one"

Disappointed as I like the look of them and have been tempted to go have a test drive. Which normally also means buy one.

Ha. I had one of the 280bhp Milano models recently for a week and actually tried to buy it as I loved it. Massively overpriced though :(
