Scottish Tax

Post by Dirk @ Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:03 pm

Finally used their tax raising powers and introduced some new bands to squeeze some more out of the rich (which in Scotland is everyone earning more than £33k pa apparently)

1p more isn't much. Enough to make anyone move south (or abroad) and thus mean that their tax take actually drops? WIll be interesting to see

We're already paying more than England as we didn't get the increase to 43K (or whatever it was) for the 40% bracket. Although weirdly I'll be roughly £80 better off under these rules than I would have been had they not changed these bands. I'm still about £600 worse off than if I lived in Liverpool though.

I was expecting it to be a lot worse really, that said these are only proposals, the SNP don't have a majority so need support to get it through, they wont go with the Tories who want UK parity anyway, Labour might acquiesce as will the Greens but they want some proper loony tax rape nonsense because they're petty jealous idiots.
