Not fat in the least, but I am big, 6'2" and 16 stone - 34" waist will fit, but for comfort I really want 35" waist.

I wrote to the shop about my experimenting jeans, to ask what weight their denim was. They have investigated and written back to me, but I'm none the wiser.

Apparently the weight is confidential information and not in the public domain. So I'm going to persist in saying 11oz.

I've accidentally worm double denim today! I forgot I had jeans on because I pretty much never wear jeans to work, and so when I just grabbed a jacket on my way out of the door and it was a denim one I didn't think too much about it. Until I was half way to work and realised and said "oh no" out loud.

I don't mind DD on purpose because you can do it properly and plan it. But today I've Billy Ray Cyrussed myself completely.

Double denim is also known as a Canadian Tuxedo. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Canadian%20Tuxedo

I don't think these are Selvedge, but what about some Action Jeans DT?

Cor! That makes me feel a bit sheepish because I've barely worn my jeans since it got warm and my fades have stalled badly.

The UB are impossible to wear when it's warm so as a project they're going to take much longer.

I saw a bloke wearing trip-denim yesterday! Imagine that...seriously, try and imagine it.

He was wearing denim jeans, a denim shirt AND a denim jacket. Pure insanity. The worst bit was that they were all similar but slightly different shades of light blue so he looked like a mismatched 80's disaster.

As an aside, I think trip-denim would actually be possible, if deployed correctly. It's got to hinge on having wildly different specs for each piece of denim in the ensemble. Stray too close to a Canadian tuxedo at any point and you'd be well in the shit.

No, I think you would need to select black denim jeans, a light, western style denim shirt and then a dark indigo trucker or Sherpa jacket and possibly/probably a flat cap.

I'm not saying everyone could pull this off, but I think in the right hands (mine) this look would just edge into the realms of Brian Fallon/KoL muso-cool.

Risky, indeed! You'd really need long hair for it to work surely?

Why stop at triple?

Team this look -

with some denim shoes -

and you're well on your way to sextuple denim, and that's got the word SEX in it.

I've got a few pairs of UNIQLO selvedge jeans for daily wear. Only about £30 a pop so can't go wrong. Highly recommended. And got a pair of UB321's that I haven't worn yet because it's too warm.

I'm right on the click-to-checkout page to buy some UB101s. I'm not sure if I can go through with it though at 148 bucks.

I thought the whole point with Unbranded was that they were cheaper?

Good point. Cultizm.com and in March

Mine were 201 tapered however assuming 101 were the same price they've only gone up as much as the fx has changed. http://www.cultizm.com/product_info.php ... 4-5oz.html

Ah. Those are the 14.5s. The ones in my shopping basket are the 21oz. I'm having a rethink.

I'm wearing my 11oz-estimated £7.50 selvedge today, which I haven't really worn since I got them. But today I've been clearing junk from the garage and repeatedly going to the tip. Just the sort of thing that the young people do in Indonesia to get such wicked fades.
