Thanks everyone, I am pretty well. Haven't used a crutch or cane for nearly two months now so especially pleased about that.

I shaved my beard off last night. Just like last time I grew a beard (BBBBB) I ended up with a beard without really knowing why I wanted it. I didn't think of myself as a bearded man, and never wanted to be one - so I was asking myself why the beard was still there. I grew it on a whim but it had begun to be 'a thing'.

So it's gone now. And yes, of course I did the goatee and the moustache and the Hitler on the way.

Quitter.

When you're in the shower/bath do you wash your beard with shampoo at the same time as you do your hair, so effectively shampooing your entire head, or do you regard the beard as different from your hair so wash it with shower gel like you would normally wash your face?

I'm a full head shampooer.

Shampoo and conditioner, surely?

Like I just stepped out of a salon.

I guess I'm a full header too, in that I use shower gel in both shower and bath, so everything (and I mean everything) gets washed the same.

I'm a full head soaper; both beard and dome get washed with soap.

That is in the bath. I don't have a shower. But if I did I would wash them with soap in that too.

I seem to be doing another beard.

I haven't shaved for about a week, because I've been in a bit of a rush in the mornings. And now it's getting towards beard already. Mrs Thorn already hates it ofc, but the children don't seem to have noticed it's there yet; they previously delighted in different-faced dad.

I started one in October and got to around the 20 day mark where it begins to get itchy. I know that it passes but I hated it hugely and so it had to go.

Mine got as far as my sternum after three years growth then a month or two ago I just cut and shaved it all off. I didn't recognise myself in the mirror.

Some Beards

Post by DI Burnside @ Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:56 pm

Over 20 years here too, bar one incident of shaving it off when the kids were Diblets*. The boy cried so I had to grow it back immediately, that and Mrs Dibs reckons I look a tw@t without it (her exact words).

*span is going to love that.

How old are you ffs?

I probably did my first proper beards about 26, 27 years ago? But it was all fun and games back then, with Lemmy-esque chops and horizontal tramlines.

My beard comes and goes depending on how lazy I feel about shaving.

Since a grey patch appeared on one side of my chin, I tend to regulate things to a no.3 or 4 on my trimmer do it's not too immediately obvious.

Of course, when the greys fully take over O shall go full wizard.
