Haha, was it the fit, appearance or the ridicule that triggered this?

They were bloody awful looking things.

The fit was fine and they were really comfortable. However I looked at myself in a full length mirror and burst out laughing.

I still like them and would have loved to have them as a kid to play basketball in. But I'm a man in his 40's that doesn't play basketball.

It's tough though, isnt it?

I recently bought SUCH a cool pair of jeans that for some weird reason were reduced by like 70% in Zara, in all sizes Ihavenoideawhy and anyway I knew MrSpan would hate them because they're so ugly but all he said was that I looked like an art student (the silent but deafening implication being that I'm actually two art students in age). Anyway, I don't care, but then....

Oh god ALRIgHT!!! They're these:

Anyway I know how you feel Teeks but I kept mine. I actually think they're quite age appropriate because women my age like stuff like that, however inadvisedly.

In the spirit of slagging off purchases, Clown those look like something’s Avril Levine would have worn in her Skater Boy video.

Gregg, I don’t know how to break it to you, but Pepsi & Shirley wore puffball skirts.

NOT when they were Wham!’s backing singers!

(I think)

(Maybe I’m thinking of Wham, come to thing of it. Span, do you look at all like Andrew Ridgeley?)

I need some new skate shoes. My go-to brand is DC (Etnies look nice but fcuking hell, they wear out quick). Never really "got" Vans.

Suggest me up, biotches.

I always found that Converse were the longest lasting and strongest made skating shoes.

Why skates shoes and not just trainers? Unless you're a skater, but I can't see that. Like S1K-o, I have always reckoned Converse to be the ones to beat, and hopefully you like subtle, plain colourways for your skate footwear, so I might suggest some One Star Pro Ox.

Funnily enough, right now I'm wearing some shoes that might pass as skate shoes, but they're armoured motorcycle shoes instead - Forma Slam Dry:

Skate shoes are:

* Hard wearing - a bit more so than regular trainers, in my exp. These'll get worn to gigs and for walking the dogs.
* Comfy
* Come in the massive sizes I need (13-14, depending on brand)
* Not trainers, which aren't really my style

I have some! They're very comfy, yes. Mine are very thin on top, though. Nice for an evening out, not so much for a gig, what with the people standing on your toes and the beer sloshing everywhere, etc.
