The puddle lights on the Jaguar EPace

Probably just the wrong side of the twee/fun divide, but made me smile anyway.

Nah, it's on the right side of that divide I reckon. Got a smile out of me too.

Tempting to toddle over to PH and blame this on Brexit. Retire to a safe distance, then watch the gammons turn a brighter shade of puce, etc...

VW down 55%
Audi down 53%

Presumably the result of dieselgate - I wonder how they're US figures are looking?

From personal experience VW can't supply the cars due to the emission things.

I've just had to go on-line to get a year's vehicle tax for the Smart. I know I have to do this because I got a go on the naughty step letter last year. My crime being that I thought a demand to pay £0 NIL could safely be ignored.

So, every year now, they send by post a demand for me to send them nothing. Is it just me thinking there might be a better way for them to demand their nothing?

Went for a run in my mates Hellcat his evening. Jesus wept. Went through the clyde tunnel and just about shattered my ear drums. Brilliant! 700 odd bhp and a torque curve that's basically a flat line of madness right through the rev range. It's also humungous and made a bmw x6 look kinda dinky.

JLR are struggling and have lost £90m in the last Qtr. China, Brexit, dieselgate.

Anyway I’ve just heard that to try and shift some volume they’re offering staff an Evoque lease for £200/mth. Kinell!

It does seem a lot of car for the money. Cheapest business lease a quick google found was £275/month, but a mate told me you could get them cheaper than that, he claimed a base model RR sport was available for £230/month.

Selectvehicle have a 2wd Discovery Sport for £230. Or 2.0 TD4 180 SE 5dr 4wd [2019] for £270 but it's a £33k car so that's about right.

Yup, the rot set in a few years back with the Freelander and then the Evoque and even the base model Discovery “Sport”

Not what they once were

I remember when they were all in fields.

Etc.

I recently spent a couple of week in a Jaguar E-Pace, which is pretty much an Evoque from what I can gather.

Seriously underwhelming - jerky auto transmission, jiggly and pitchy ride, and a petrol engine which for all its 250 bhp sounded rough and recalcitrant.

My mate has one. It's ok in the front but the rear is much like a pygmy-
dark, small and difficult to enter.

Also no bloody grab handles. In an off roader. Stupid car.

My sister is on her second Evoque. They're smart enough, but tiny and complicated. Hers is black and white and looks like a Stormtrooper's helmet.

Or helmet.

I filled up the Shogun today, from fuel-light-on to brimming. Eighty five litres. That was eye-watering.

Hopefully I'll be spending a bit less on petrol in the future as I've just had a minor fuel leak fixed. I didn't know it was leaking but it turned up on the MoT. At £1.30 or so a litre petrol is too expensive to just be throwing away.
