Well done CJ! I fancied the X one of those to replace my Subaru a while back (but didn't get it ofc). I think they're pretty smart.

Presumably they’re built to last? All mod cons?

BTW, I did have a list of about a dozen estate cars saved on AutoTrader, but I knew deep down that as long as this one wasn't shit, was nice inside and out, and that I liked driving, it would be the one I'd buy. I just like the combination of the colour and the style and everything. Test-driving every estate car in the north-east wasn't going to change that.

So in true TT fashion, I just went "fcuk it, if it's alright I'm having it", and it was, so I did.

I did have a look at an Audi A6 avant while I was there, but I really didn't chime with the interior (despite it being higher spec with nav), the cloth seats were offputting (it also smelt suspiciously like it had been smoked in), the engine at 2L was prolly a bit small for the giant land barge, and to cap it off, it was 3 years older and had 100K miles on it.

Yeah - climate/heated seats/leather/etc. Maybe it also has BT/MP3? Dunno. Felt pretty solid on the test drive - nice and firm, but very supple over potholes (= more comfy = more better). A very satisfying gearbox, too. Nice long throw on the clutch. Very progressive throttle. And brakes.

Nice!! I’m currently driving my late fathers 20 year old Merc. It won’t last forever and probably need a family wagon but something cheap and reliable as I simply can’t afford anything costly. Never had a Saab...

Has anyone had the TTiD version with the two turbos? I might be looking at a couple in the next few weeks.

There is a Saab independent garage just near you (well <5 miles away) I can PM you details, which would help with keeping it going.

It's a 1.9 Linear TTiD.

ETA: or, as my insurer puts it, "SAAB 9-3 LINEAR SE TURBO EDITION TTID4 (160)"

Ah! Sorry, when I looked at the advert I thought it was the standard TiD. I've been looking at the 180bhp Aero models.

That’s the later low power TTiD in CJs pov spec wagon. The Aeros have 180 and are a tweak away from a lot more.

Can't you let Cj enjoy his new purchase for at least a day before you put the boot in Cheesy?

Hehe. It’s officially povspec but as one of the penultimate facelift cars it’s got a decent amount of kit on it. Nice colour too.

Given the performance, isn't that about right when you compare it to other high end supercars?

A Ferrari is going to be well over $200,000.
Same with a Lamborghini.
What are the top Porsches? Like a GT3 or something?
MClaren, I think will be over $200k.

A Bugatti, or Pagani is probably going to be adding another zero to that.

But if they can get the range of 600miles from a car with that sort of performance available, there's no excuses now.

Your face is a horror. And so is your cheese.

What I was trying to say is it IS pov spec, but in the latter days they threw more at it hence it’s actually quite nice. Still like the colour too.

That Tesla looks incredible and the performance stats for the price make it look a bargain. Shame the target market for hypercars is Saudi princes and Russian oligarchs.

Yeah but I guess we can hope that the technology will be applicable to cheaper cars eventually and other companies will adopt it.

That tesla is an amazing car, but you build the fastest most modern hypercar on the planet and that is really the best you can do on the aesthetic front?
I have never met anyone who likes the looks of any of the Teslas.
Its such a shame because they have done an incredible job, I just cant buy into the idea of getting a car that looks like anything they produce.

The roadster is hardly ugly, at worst a bit Meh but then so are all the McLaren road cars.
