Yes Greg there is someone. Me.

And I'm not happy about it. The most annoying thing about it is thatI've seen several cars I want but nobody is willing to reduce the price to my budget. Like you say, probably Brexit related.

I thought that was a 1 series BM span, looks excellent!

I am jealous of all this purchasing and hope to not do something silly about it.

I thought it was A1 series too. It looks really smart span, classy!

It makes me want to buy something as well, but I just can't at the moment. I look forward to doing some buying soon.

Thanks everyone! I started off wanting something like a Kia Stonic / Peugoet 2008 but then I drove a few of those type of car and came back very determinedly to what we got.

You'll never guess what though - do you see behind the car there is a hedge that separates us from our (really annoying) neighbours? Well they never maintained the plant on their side and it got huge and last week we had a windy day and it pulled their actual car port right over! So they've had someone come and remove the plant ENTIRELY, so we now have nothing but a little 1.5m wire fence between us and them, there's basically nothing between us, and honestly it's AWFUL.

If we owned the house I'd be buying in plants but as it is I'm looking for fake greenery to plaster over the fence for now. What a pain!!

Unless you're planning on moving in the short-term explain the situation to your landlord and ask permission to put some plants in. If you're a nice tenant and not one of those really annoying sorts, they might even do it for you.

Thanks, Happy, I'm sure our landlords would be happy for that but it's more that it would take time to thicken up, and if it eventually comes into its own next summer then that's months of us practically sharing a communal drive. That's why I'm thinking leave the remnants of the bouganvillea there to grow up and use something to cover the rest. Just a sec I'll take a pic:

TT, I've complained about our neighbours before so I'm pasting in that as a summary, with the addition that she leaves her fcuking dogs free to go in the garden when she's out (most of the time) which means we cannot use our garden because this one dog yaps incessantly through the hedge at us for every moment that we're outside. We've told her loads of times and she's just a flustery old tart about it each time.

span wrote:God, as I type this, my neighbours are having ANOTHER noisy argument. I used to think we had thick walls but it turns out we had quiet neighbours. We have the same walls and new neighbours and these lot are so noisy!

And English. It sounds like Eastenders next door. If they're not arguing they're playing Ed Sheeran loudly in the afternoon, I mean fcuking hell.

Plus, if you're really asking me to elaborate, they're quite thick. We found out our vacuum cleaner that we waiting for had been taken in by nextdoor about two weeks previous, so I went over to ask, and she was nice in an absent sort of way, but hadn't known whose it was because she didn't know the address, because she didn't know her address. They've got three tiny white dogs and one of them's called Princess. Or maybe that's her nickname for them because that's what she always shouts when one of them's doing something wrong.

This whole thing has taught me one thing which is that that thing of holding a glass against the wall to listen into stuff like a spy really does work. But you have to make sure everyone on your side of the wall is quiet, spanlet, shhhhh!!! Mummy's being a spy!

Plus the lovely neighbours on our other side have told us she's not paying her rent!! What a dozy useless travesty of a woman. PLUS she takes Princess out in a pram and dresses it in clothes.

Good, but bamboo will grow even faster, plus it's really only just a grass.

(Just be sure to plant it in root-impermeable fabric/pots, or it'll spread.)

Use all the time that she's out to train it to hunt rats and bring them home and leave them on the doorstep.

I must be getting old. Not much in there makes me hard.
Maybe the 911 sports Classic.

I love that truck because it looks like something 8 year old me would draw.
<$40,000 for the basic model.

I genuinely hope Tesla succeeds with all the electric cars, trucks and lorries, I think they're brilliant, but where is all the 'clean' electricity coming from for these things? We can't provide enough solar and wind power for everybody to have an electric vehicle, surely?

Love it, I'd have one in a heartbeat, there is a rumour that Tesla are going to announce a million-mile battery early next year, if they did I reckon that would be one of the last issues taken away since it would create a thriving second-hand market by solving the depreciation issues related to battery life.

almost - the glass is supposed to be unbreakable - the live demo did not go to plan.

we can - you guys are probably fcuked though. No doubt it is a great machine and engineering wise ace, but I just can't get past the way it looks. I honestly think that after Thanksgiving they will come out with the 'real' thing and it will look a lot more like the rest of the Tesla line up, I can't believe an adult thinks this is a good look.

In car news, I did some work on mine. Mostly it involved flushing sawdust and miscellaneous detritus out of the intercoolers and pipework. The intercoolers are now back on the car, and aside from the exhaust I'm finished crawling around underneath the bastard thing. Next update next week.
