1 x Tesla X
3 x Tesla S
3 x BMW i3
1 x BMW i8
2 X Nissan Leaf

Plus uncountable Priuses, eDrive BMWs, several VW Golf GTEs and Ford hybrid Mondeos, two Vauxhall Amperas and a Chevy Volt.

Go on then, where do you live. I see nothing like that amount of EVs

Model X - 1 on the road.
Model S - One a month.
I3 - Seen probably no more than 20 in toto.
I8 - 2 or 3 on the roads.
Leaf - occasionally.

And I live not far from both a BMW and Tesla dealer.

Oh, adn the last twice I've got taxis back from the office to the train station they have been fully electric!

One was maybe a Nissan Leaf? The taxi driver seemed to love it. Says its cheaper to run compared to filling up with fuel. And it charges pretty quickly too, he can charge it overnight for the next day, or give it a quick charge in the afternoon if he has to.

Why don’t EVs have solar panels built into the roof?

I saw a Tesla with roof bars carrying a SUP up to Loch Lomond at the weekend (silently and environmentally friendly-ly!).

It was well cool and there is even a charging point at Balmaba in the car park outside the Oak Tree pub. I want one :(

Nowhere special. But I have a 30-mile DC commute in the morning, and that's where I see them.

It genuinely doesn't feel remarkable that there's a sizeable proportion of hybrids or EVs kicking about. Three years ago when I bought my wife a new car, we looked at both the Honda CR-Z (fab! But too small in the back for what we needed) and the Nissan Leaf (fab! But too expensive at the time for what we needed).

I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I saw two Tesla Model S's on the road this morning within literally eight minutes of leaving my house. And also realised is completely forgotten about one of the most popular hybrids I see around; the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Tons.

No, battery powered electic cars only.

The i3 is full electric. It has an optional range extending generator, but that just charges the battery.

Here is one that drove past silently just now:

I know Baby Huey has banned hybrids from this thread but it is MFD's thread so until he rules on this I am going to post one.
And because it is from exactly the same point as MFDs picture two posts up, I thought it was a funny/interesting coincidence. Plus this hybrid was on electric mode when I took the picture

That’s actually a pretty cool coincidence. EV’s have really brought us together haven’t they?

Actual laugh.

Electric cars are so popular and fantastic that I could probably get a photo at that location every couple of minutes.

Maybe we should stick to full EVs though, if we started including hybrids it would be a Priusfest within minutes. I don't think it is an exaggeration that at least every other car or bus on the road around here is a hybrid or EV of some kind.

It's really nice that we've all found something to bond around.

I own an electric bike so I feel that I'm sort of halfway to being an electric car owner.

I hardly ever see an EV where I am, from memory I think the only one I've seen was one of those tiny ones. Bit like a Smart car but not a Smart car, something else. I feel a bit left out :(

Loods of Priuses (Priousi ?) around here though.

There may be some EVs and other hybrids but I'm not familiar with them so maybe I just don't realise.

The local motorway services near me, which is WIGAN has a bank of dedicated Tesla Superchargers along with standard EV points. It also has a very expensive fuel forecourt. I would feel very smug rolling up in my Tesla and charging it for free while I have a coffee, while all the other mugs pay for the coffee AND their expensive fuel, the fools.

I saw a Tesla the other day, it stopped next to me at the lights. I was in the shitbox Vauxhall, not the Griff, but the Tesla driver was keen to race off the lights ad show me what it could do so he floored it. At least, I assumed he floored it - there was no noise, no drama, just a straight linear acceleration, which I have to say was very rapid. No gear changing to slow you down. I was impressed, slightly
