G-whizz or something.

I remember seeing one being charged on the street near Oval. Someone had written 'tw@t' on the window in permanent marker.

We've gone from those, to Teslas remarkably quickly. Another few years and we'll really be in business as far as EVs go.

It wasn't a G-wizz, it was an odd looking thing, the wheels poked out a bit.

And because it is from exactly the same point as MFDs picture two posts up, I thought it was a funny/interesting coincidence. Plus this hybrid was on electric mode when I took the picture

I think wind up cars are a few years away still. The death of Trevor Bayliss slowed that project down.

I think it was a Nissan. It was fantastic.

I just saw that Tesla are now making 3500 M3s a week, soon to rise to 5000 as they open another production line. Very impressive.

This thread will have to stop pretty soon as EVs will become ubiquitous.

I know we're not allowed to include hybrids here, but my goodness they're everywhere.

Most new(ish) Toyotas I see are hybrids; Aurises, CH-Rs (do they even come as a non hybrid?), even RAV 4s now. And that doesn't include the obvious Priuses.

And all the 3 series and C classes et al that we don’t notice being hybrids.

Oh, and every single Lexus.

What amazes me is that they manage to make a car that looks soooooo amazing, is almost free to run and is a silent as an Aresnal fan, and yet some of us are still buying petrol and diesel cars.
It is utterly inexplicable

I saw one of those this morning. I didn’t know they even existed.

I forgot to mention it but I’ve seen a few of the not yet announced JLR electric models at Gaydon. By 2020 everything they sell will have some electrified power.

Plus, and you ain’t heard it from me, the F-Type replacement will only be available as an fully EV.

I'm not surprised, given that it took them about 50 years to go from E-Type to F-Type...

I bet they're properly dull to drive with super light controls and a total detachment from the road.

Which, to be fair, is exactly what most people want most of the time.

You’ve just described 99% of cars though. At least electric has something interesting going for it, esp the max torque from zero whizziness.

:D

On my morning commute I was behind a hybrid Toyata SUV which was following a Tesla,

Later on a dual carriageway I was following the same Tesla and when the road was clear it shot away from me like a bullet, until traffic allowed me to catch up again

Exactly my point - they're exactly what people want but even more so as they're practically free to run and they're from the actual future!

I don’t see many Model S, the majority are Chauffeur cars (similar badging to the Mini Cabs) around London.

Living on the SE London / Kent border I see many electric cars every day. On the school run, outside local shops, in motorway service stations and in virtually every client car park I visit (most of them offer free recharging). However, it is noticeable that there are fewer in the more rural areas, but I suspect this is more to do with the age-group who can typically afford to live in those areas than any practical issues.

Anyway, has anyone seen the Model S Shooting brake conversion somebody in Norfolk has built? I think it would be my perfect car...

Nice looking car but isn't that just an estate rather than a shooting brake?

Uncanny coincidence.
The other day when you posted one I went out to recreate your photo for entertainment sake.
Whilst out there I took the following picture that I didn't post because the angle/view wasn't the same as yours so I took the other one of the prius from the same angle. But look what I got at the same time:

Haha, amazing.

That shooting brake/estate looks fantastic. I wonder what the fit and finish is like up close.

P.s. I hope you weren't one of those caught in this Baby Huey:
