What car?

General car gossip.

What car?

Post by Turntable @ Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:27 pm

I’m having a bit of a car swap around.
I’ve persuaded my wife out of the Dacia and she’s getting a 7 seater of some kind.
Her car and the Land Cruiser are going so I need a runaround for me.
Only criteria is mildly interesting.
Will be used as a station car and runaround.
CWs Mini seems like a perfect choice and brilliant value so something like that is a definite consideration.
500 abarth too gay?
Give me some other options. Budget somewhere between £1k and £10k

Get a Cooper S like what CW just did, or even a John Cooper Works. Or don’t. You could get an Audi A1 TFSI well within your budget, or an Alfa Romeo Mito.

I’m going to factor in some inevitable TT budget creep and say mk7 Golf R.

He will say it’s completely out of the question because the budget is £10k.

And then we will wait for a bit.

And then he will tell us he’s bought a mk7 Golf R.

I did think about this but I’ve spent far too much on cars lately

I mentioned a few years back my interest in a Cooper S or hotter and am quietly confident it was TT who questioned my maculinity/sexuality.

Anyway, I still think they and Abarth 500s are cool

Good shouts Strawms, but I should have specified that it will be a daily driver so I don't want classicy cars.
Interesting modernish.

We have a Abarth 595 and it's a great little car for station runs - not something I'd want to travel a long distance in but for your needs it'll be perfect.

You're welcome.

These have got well cheap making them almost disposable vfm. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201911104221986

I keep thinking about replacing ours but then can't find anything I'd want more for the money.

Good idea - but I prefer them in the coupe version they did before the 2 Series launched.
