So what's the deal with Logan there, how come he's all covered in blood and not healed up?

(Not seen the Wolverine movie, so may have missed some of the back story)

Is that the Japanesey one? I've seen that one twice but I can't remember it affecting his powers. I mean, I know that was the main plot arc but did he not sort it all out??

The first one was, I though the second was vastly better. Everything is relative however.

Loving the Logan trailer. Have always loved the Johnny Cash "Hurt", and it works very well in that trailer.

Logan is set one year after the easter egg at the end of Days of Future Past. In that film, Wolverine went back to 1973 and changed the future. In the easter egg he wakes up in 2023 to find Jean Grey, Cyclops et al all happily living in the Mansion teaching kids. This time line obliterated the timeline which provided stories for a number of other X-Men and Wolverine films.

In a year therefore, everything goes from nice to shit. Lots (most? all other?) mutants are dead. Prof X is in bad health and Logan's healing factor is working slowly and imperfectly, so he's ageing and showing scars.

This video is quite good for explaining. Original video page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL3dH8U4ezs

I spend far too long on this stuff.

Haha. Has this tipped over the line into self awareness, this might be actually entertainingly bad?

Nice longboard sequence. Amazed they didn't call me.

Did anyone watch V/H/S a few years ago? I did. It's a portmanteau of short horror films, and the first story in it is about a helpless girl who turns out to be anything but.

Now someone has taken that idea (and that character and the actress who played the girl) and made a whole actual film all about her. Here is its trailer, which makes it look terrible to start with but then pretty good I think. Thus:

I must admit it looks pretty spectacular, and somehow the super slomo-ing fights don't look as tired as they ought to by now - but who knows?

I have a considerable erection for this. I just hope it won't be a huge disappointment, as is so often the case with II's

I'm still in love with 1970's Lynda Carter.

Me too. I watched an episode of First Dates last night where there was a full-on Linda Carter lookalike who I was tremendously impressed by.

I like the way (as the youtube commentators say) the trailer doesn't spoiler the film, there is enough menace to know bad things will happen, but not what and when.

They're doing a live action Ghost in the Shell:

https://youtu.be/4GNm7IHLHgY

(Not an actual trailer but teasers cobbled together I think)

On the one hand, if the original didn't exist and wasn't already flawless, it looks quite good. On the other, the original exists and is flawless. FFS! Someone PLEASE make a big film based on an original idea.

That makes Ghost In The Shell look terrible! Is that Takeshi Kitano in there?
