Trailers for Exciting Things

Some things cultured but mostly films and telly stuff.

sadface

Local traffic Twitter says there was also an accident at the same location in my direction, so clearly all the debris flying across the road caused further problems.

I'd noticed the carriageway behind me was suddenly empty, but through it might have just been people slowing down to look.

Oh no, Damien... That sounds horrible. I hope it wasn't as bad as it looked. Sickening to see though.

I find it interesting that you and TT both are probably above-average sensitivity to real-life stuff. So you must simply be better at differentiating fact from fiction.

So in a weird way I try and imagine it so I can care more.
That sounds odd and I'm not explaining myself very well.

That makes total sense. I agree the 'whevs' reaction that comes with any type of distance from the bad thing, is human nature. Something happens to a little spanlet-esque boy on the news and I have an instant physical reaction; something worse can happen to dozens of people I can't easily relate to, in a place I'm unfamiliar with, and I'll do the same as you and make an effort to empathise. (unless I'm busy, I don't always do it)

Yes, a remake. But this time I'm quite interested to see what they do with updating a film I really like. From this trailer they clearly aren't going for a similar expressionist aesthetic, but it does still look effectively creepy.

OK, this looks fascinating. It seems to go through about six different genres before the trailer ends.

And this I'd forgotten was even happening, but the trailer makes me interested. It'll probably end up being just another thriller, though.

Not an actual but there is a section of the Star wars fanbase who were unhappy with the film The Last Jedi and want to crowdfund a remake

Star Wars has now gone the way of Alien and should be left to die. The Last Jedi was so bad I'm not sure it can recover.

Well now you persuaded me to watch it too and yes, it does look good. I look forward to watching it much later than you lot when it comes out on DVD or is shown on the TV.

OK look, I know no one actually watches any of these trailers. But I've been reading incredible things about this film for a long time, and I'm genuinely excited to see the trailer. And the trailer looks almost as nuts as I hoped it might:

The Mandy thing looked okay right up until he made a daft sword axe thing like a fat Warhammer child would buy from the Internet so he could wave it around in his bedroom and pretend he's a zombie ninja killer whilst crying inside because everyone else was out playing football.

You remember this (ofc), it's the Nazi zombie Cloverfield (not Cloverfield anymore) film -

Which to my eyes looks utterly fantastic.
