Acting looks a bit hammy and not sure I like the ultra-modern tripod but the art direction looks great so a tentative hype! from me.

Netflix have got so much data for the films people watch. The actors, the directors, the genres etc.

They have algorithmed the fcuk out of that film and I’m all for it.

Michael Bay doesn't really need to put his actual name on stuff any more, you'd know straight away with the first slo-mo shot with the "mmmmmnnnngggguuurrrr" sound.

I started to watch this yesterday, but only got about 25 minutes in before the children would be home from school so I turned it off. It was as creepy AF. I can't wait to watch the rest.

This ended up being pretty disappointing.

It's very creepy all the way through, but ultimately the whole film is just 'meh', a bad ending (IMO) and overall it just never really ties together. In the end I felt there was never really a plot. Just a series of creepy scenes.

Why can’t I muster up even a twitch of enthusiasm for this? I LOVED Star Wars as a child but it just feels tired and boring now. I got excited for the Force Awakens but watched the next one on Netflix and ended up checking my emails before the end. And now, even for the grand finale, I can’t even be arsed.

I was excited for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood though (correctly, as it turned out), so am forced to conclude its films that are just shit, and not me who’s a joyless cnut.

I liked the Star Wars films as a kid but I too can muster no enthusiasm for the new films. I saw about half an hour of one of them and it was absolutely dire.

Agreed. I loved the original 3 as a child, unironically re-visited them as a teenager and loved them again, but every SW film since then has left me cold.

And I fcuking love science fiction.

I lost my love for Star Wars when they started buggering about with the old films. They didn't need fancy new special effects and Han shot first. Don't mess with people's memories.
That said, I'm drinking my tea from my R2Tcup...

The Grudge was the last film that properly scared the shit out of me. We watched it at the cinema one evening and had to walk back to the car in pitch black. On the drive home we put on a late night love radio station just to calm down.

No Trailer yet but a film by Michael Flatley; written and directed and financed by and starring him. Reportedly a rewrite of Casablanca

Image

It's been in post prodution since April 2018, so might never be released, but if it is, possibly the worst film this century?

This looks pretty good:

Although I would have liked the trailer to not include any explicit invisibleising, so it keeps the craziness ambiguity. I wonder if the film keeps the ambiguity longer? Or plays like a straight up horror instead.
