What have you watched on telly?

Some things cultured but mostly films and telly stuff.

I heard this was superb but I've missed the first two episodes so I'm recording the remainder and hoping the first two will be repeated.

They're all on iplayer if you get a shimmy on.

I started watching The Defenders last night and got confused as I don't know the back stories apart from Luke Cage.

So I started watching Jessica Jones in the hope of clarifying it (as I hear the Iron Fist is terrible and I've seen the Daredevil film yonks ago, also terrible).

Confusing as Luke Cage is also in JJ (and also in JJ) without reference to the chronology of his story.

I've watched four Defenders now >beams proudly< but it's just boring. I tried to give a decent go to the precursor serieses too, but the first episode of JJ was boring, Luke Cage was alright for about four episodes but then I realised I simply didn't care, Iron Fiat I cba and Daredevil started ages ago so no chance.

Just too much telly around for half-assed chancers I'm afraid. And TWD is back next week.

Genuine typo.

Recently finished watching this. I liked it but my girlfriend sort of switched off from it and decided that everyone in it was an idiot who deserved to die.

I must admit, I think the boyfriend should be on the hit list. He's such a toad.

He is yes. And he reminds me a bit of Chris Martin (but only when he's wearing his hat), so even more reason to hate him.

The Gifted. Watched 2 eps (it's a week by week release).

X-Kids - X-Men Lite with references to the X-Men and Magneto's mob. Some established characters from the comics. Pretty good so far.

Also: Ep 5 of ST: Discovery. This one was a bit below par.

The good place, the 1st season is on Netflix and season 2 is being added an episode a week. Reasonably funny in season 1 but also quite linear, then it has a great twist at the end, season 2 is better so far.

I watched Louis CK 2017. It’s an hour long Netflix special and I did a couple of actual laughs on a plane.

Very our humour. Abortion, penises, that kind of thing.

Mindhunters on Netflix. Very interesting. About 2 FBI agents in 1970s who visit serial killers in prison to gain insight into the criminal mind. Beautifully shot and well directed, great scripts. Am enjoying a great deal.

Dimension 404, which is a 21st century tech version of The Twilight Zone, separate stories of weirdness like a much-more-light-hearted Black Mirror. I've watched the first couple and it's decently fun.

Certainly way more fun than Electric Dreams, which persists in being a genuine trial of endurance in the face of expensively-presented tedium.

I've started watching Toast of London again as it's brilliant.

I noticed Daisy Riddley turned up in a very minor role, pre-Starwars fame.

I absolutely love him and agree it's CTF-ish humour. He says some almost-appalling things but they're often the things that lurk in the corner of my - absolutely pristine - mind.

I'm not sure if this should be here or in films because it was on tv but I'm watching it on DVD.

FARGO- year 3.
Just watched the first episode and it was brilliant. Apart from the excellent plot, the camera work and music are a joy.

This is utterly superb and just gets better and better as it goes along. I talked about it on here a few months ago; I loved it.

I love the bit he does in the latest special. "Racial stereotypes are awful, awful. But the voices are hilarious"

The word is that he gets women in his dressing room then makes them watch him wank.

Finished Mr Mercedes last week and found it thoroughly satisfying, also very pleased to hear that it's getting a second series.

Travel Man is back, with the first one showing Ayoade and Matt Lucas barrelling around Rome. It was ace.

I finished watching Rellik last night. The finale brings you full circle back to where episode one started and you find out what this has all been for. The killer was unmasked in the penultimate episode which I actually preferred because it meant that there wasn't that cliched gasp! so Colonel Mustard did it! in the final episode. It's all a bit apocalyptic, but there are some genuine 'holy fcuk!' moments.

Really liked it. 8/10.

I have a similar problem. I only managed to binge the last three episodes yesterday as I was too hungover to want to go out anywhere and Mr C was watching Defenders which I can't get on with so I just lay in bed with the ipad watching it.
