What have you watched on telly?

Some things cultured but mostly films and telly stuff.

Volvo 240 has to win against an XJS, which will break down and/or run out of petrol within a mile. The fan on the front of the Volvo does look particularly vulnerable though and could hole the radiator quite easily.

My money is on Seen Been dying quite quickly.

Am watching series 1 currently. Very much enjoying it. Brooding tension building. Can I skip series 2 which is shit by all accounts?

We’ve just started watching The Umbrella Academy and very good it is too. Quirky, funny and genuinely charming in places. I love how it’s shot and love how the wee boy in it is acting all the adults off the screen.

re: Curfew. Is Sean Bean the worst ever actor that keeps being employed to be an actor? Yes.

I honestly can’t fathom how people keep giving him money to be a character in their films or tv shows. He’s an ingredient that ruins everything he’s in. If you hate horseradish and a dish is sirloin steak pan fried with thyme jus, green beans and horseradish mash you’ll think “well I like steak, beans and mash but why did they put horseradish in the mash?”. It ruins the entire dish.

That’s Sean Bean.

I once read that apparently Sean Bean’s character in Ronin was written out when they realised just how fcuking awful his performance was. I choose to believe it.

I agree with this. The only thing he's been alright in was Game Of Thrones, where he had to be worthy and dull. Successfully.

I can't wait to get stuck into this too. I should be able to clatter through some at gymnastics now I've finished Russian Doll. Glad it's good.

I'm 3 in and totally agree, although some of the camera angles they use to try and make Luther look bigger than he is are a bit laughable.

I'm really enjoying this, too! It took a few episodes for me to go from 'I suppose it's worth another episode' to 'this is really good', but we're on 7 I think and now I think it's great.

Agreed on the boy, who is terrific. And the drug addict one really annoyed me in the first couple of episodes but now I love him.

What with the likes of Russian Doll and this, and all those great food programmes like Salt Acid Fat Heat, and Ugly Delicious, and Somebody Feed Phil, who needs anything but Netflix?!

Apart from so far I'm also really enjoying Baptiste on BBC. About a new case for the French detective from both The Missings - it's very good so far in the same ways as both series of The Missing were, unsurprisingly as it's the same writers and actor.

Watched the first five minutes of Curfew and it’s dramatically shit. The standard of the acting and the obviously sped up footage when they’re in the McLaren is astonishingly crap. I’m out.

I was hooked the minute the 'I think were alone now' sequence played, I watched it as a Gif on twitter, sadly not on youtube or I'd post it.

Mr C watched the first 15 minutes and said pretty much exactly the same as you. And he has a very low bar for crap TV.

Finished Umbrella Academy, excellent, can’t wait for S2.

Finished Russian Doll, meh, didn’t even realise it had finished.

Up to E3 of Norsemen. Utterly brilliant !

We are watching The Passage, which is a vampire thing where scientists are trying to use the vampire virus to cure disease and make people live longer. It’s quite good.

I tried to watch Russian Doll but switched it off after five minutes. I’m not sure I was in the mood for it.

Is norsemen a comedy? I went to watch it on the strength of this thread and was completely put off by the picture on the 'cover' on Netflix. (How would you describe that?)
It just looked like some kind of caper that my wife would watch

Watched the first Leaving Neverland last night, truly harrowing and how any of the fans are still arguing that Jackson was innocent I don't know.
Disgusting human, though I do think the parents were weirdly complicit and his staff should probably be in jail.

Thank goodness they’re doing another because it’s been wonderful imo.
