Some things cultured but mostly films and telly stuff.

What's the worst ever film you've seen in a cinema?

Post by Strawman @ Thu Jul 27, 2017 12:04 pm

For me probably 'Air America'
Just fairly boring, I can't remember much about it but remember being tempted to leave before the end. Mel Gibson flies some cargo planes in Vietnam, some stuff happens, I didn't care what the outcome would be. Probably Ok if I stumbled across it late night channel hopping, but underwhelming when I'd paid to watch it.

I watched The Happening in the cinema, and that's one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Although not the most boring so I wanted to stay until the end and have rewatched it since. Awful film! Can't stop watching!

Sleepless in Seattle, I think. Certainly the only film I've ever left before the end.

I left a girl watching Titanic to go for a smoke but I came back.

Oh come on. Incredibly sweet stories with heart-stoppingly romantic moments might not be your THING, but it's not the worst film you've ever seen.

I saw Titanic three times at the cinema* but I agree it's bad.

When I worked at the cinema it would have been Hangar 18. After six screenings we had sold a total of two tickets for this shite mess of a scifi tale and it was pulled from the cinema, the only time that happened in the 2 years or so I was there. To add insult to injury I saw it twice.

With my own money it is, without question, Wild Wild West although one of the Spiderman movies - I can't recall the actual title - runs it a very close second.

It's a toss up between Titanic & Sleepers. The first was utterly dull & even made the interesting story (of the ship sinking) crap, the latter was so crap I fell asleep about 1/3rd of the way through.

The Hobbit The Battle Of The Five Armies.

I think that's probably the worst. It just goes on and on and on and on and on. And it fundamentally shits itself at the end.

During: WE'RE ALL FIGHTING OVER THIS MOUNTAIN FULL OF GOLD BECAUSE WE LOVE GOLD EVERYONE LOVES GOLD GOLD IS AWESOME

At the end: Gold? Eh, not arsed. Got some twigs here though. They're ace!

The film I've probably enjoyed least at the cinema is Miami Vice - that one with Colin Farrell in. That was awful in every way - I was angry and bored all the way through.

It's a toss-up between Silent Hill and Batman vs Superman I think.

The former was so awful and horrifying that Mr Clown nearly got up and walked out halfway through. The latter because I hadn't wanted to see it, believing it would be dogshit but went to please Mr Clown. It was over-long, ridiculous, overblown and made no sense - so Batman suddenly decided he and Superman were BFF because their mums shared the same name? WTF? Ludicrous.

In fact I even irrelevantly said "but you got your tan in Miami...?" to a barmaid in Lisbon the other weekend, just as an homage to the film, reasoning I'd never have as good a chance of a barmaid answering "Leeshboa" as in Lisbon.

That M Night Shalalalaalaman one with the farm and... aliens was it? I don't recall as I left half way through.

It is the only film I've walked out on.

Came close with Blair Witch as it was dreadful.

I'm with Diss on this one, Sleepless in Seattle, a fcuking horror of a film. Did see it out but only as it was a date.
Also, Blair Witch. Hype, hype, hype, hype, watch, shit. Only thing I can remember is the sniveling snotty woman in it.

La Maitresse. Was reckoned to be so smutty that they wouldn't even give it an X certificate, but it did get shown in a couple of art house cinemas. It was as boring as fcuk and the only thing I can remember of it was someone having his todger nailed to a plank :yikes:

The worst film I've seen in the cinema is definitely Batman And Robin (1997, Dir. Joel Schumacher), the one with George Clooney as Batman, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy. I only agreed to go and watch it because my friend's little sister was desperate to see it because everyone else in her class had seen it except her. Within ten or fifteen minutes of the beginning of the film my friend and I were exchanging despairing glances at each other over the top of her sister's head, both of us having realised our mistake at agreeing to sit through this shower of shit. If it hadn't been for her sister we'd both have been happy to get up and leave at that point.

I still resent the loss of two hours of my life in that cinema two decades later.

I'd forgotten that, it was utterly dreadful. It might have even been slightly worse than Titanic.

I like the cinema and I like some pretty terrible films, so it's tricky for me to remember something truly awful. In recent memory it's certainly BvS: DOJ, which was endlessly wretched.

I didn't ssee this at the cinema but wanted to express solidarity - the mum's name thing being the low point in a big pile of crap.

Poor Ben Affleck, I still think he'd be a good Bats with a better film to bat in.

Something Lord of The Rings. Me and my mate went with our then girlfriends, we got up 3 times thinking the boring cnut had ended. I still hold it against him that he didn't leave the first time and come to the pub opposite the cinema. I have never attempted to watch one since.
