Can somebody lend me a Fireblade?

Two wheels good.

Can somebody lend me a Fireblade?

Post by randlemarcus @ Fri Mar 14, 2008 5:19 pm

Had a call from a very nice man who, if I can get my stuff together enough to borrow a Fireblade for next Friday (Good Friday), if only to arrive on, is willing to let me play around on an 08 Blade. And an 08 GXSR. And an 08 ZX10. And an 08 R1.

Which would be rather fun, I thought.

Still trying to rearrange children looking after type stuff, but I rather suspect it would be somewhere airfield like..

Thoughts?

Dear god, how can you possibly describe Nervy as sensible. I know this is the Internet, but really...

Spoke to Mr Hogan yesterday, and though they were prepared to push the bounds of journalistic integrity so far, me rocking up in a car is perhaps a step too far, even for them.

So I dont get to play :(

On the bright side (sort of) Royal & Sun have written the MV off, and my policy is New for Old, so the next question is:
312R in black
http://mvagusta.com/tools/minif4_312/index_eng.htm

or a little bit of extra monies
1078RR in graphite and black
http://mvagusta.com/tools/minif4_312/main_eng.html

Cant be doing with a biposto, so I have to wait a little while either way.

Still discussing, but the engineer was using 10-11K as market value (and no, oddly enough he couldnt find any examples of one at that price), and was saying they are guaranteed 45% by their salvage lot. Speaking to Red Dog, the estimate was 6.5K for replacement bits, and wouldnt be enormously lower for repair work on my own account, so that, plus the fact that its a new for old policy means I'm not moaning too very much.

Might make a very interesting streetfighter :)

I low sided my 749 a year or two back and got similar damage to the bodywork plus various pegs, levers bars etc worn away and repaired the non-aesthetics for about ££400 and it only needs a new fairing (one side - ££600) to be 'as new' again. Am I missing something major that's buggered on yours?

Not been home all week, so dont have the repair estimate yet, but its mostly cosmetic
mirror = 250
side fairing = 700
nose fairing = 700 odd
belly pan = 400
seat unit = 500
screen = 50
levers = 75 odd I think
which means the engine cover and clipons must be really expensive :)

The only thing I can think is that I've bent the forks when its impacted - will post up the damage when I get back to that Lunnon over the weekend, but theres no frame damage, and no damage to the rims (at 5K a pair)

Meh, and bah.
Only really amusing thing is that Hogan admitted to doing exactly the same thing on a GXSR1000 not very long ago.
