But with a simple router you could cast to the TV, you smelly towelled Hugh Hefner wannabe.

So, DaTho, did you buy that £113 pile of awesome, or did you flake out and buy something that simply doesn't deliver a feeling of pride and superior?

Ah yes. I remember someone mentioned this would work. Probably you. Although I don't think my tv has a socket that will connect it to the router. RJ45 I think?

Anyway, It's still BT Sport. BT SPORT. SPORT. I hate watching sport. Apart from F1 and I watch that on woptv.

I am NOT smelly.

Nope. As yet I have bought NO new phones. NO phones. I am still wobbling along with my old Moto X Play.

I bought one of these on a whim; Chinese goodness.
It arrived today and is pretty bloody good to be honest, almost vanilla Android 7.0 and surprisingly good build quality and materials. Display is gorgeous, sharp and bright.

It does look good (the one you got), as mentioned earlier in the thread I got my mum a Honor 6X and it's shockingly good. I feel like a fool for paying so much for a HTC 10.

Since I moved away from a contract with handset about 5 years ago onto GiffGaff I've just bought second hand phones and used the included insurance from my bank account to replace if/when they get damaged. I'd never pay for a flagship phone but models a generation or two old are usually suffice.
I've had Nexus and Galaxy Note phones recently and while a £120 Chinese phone isn't quite there with material and assembly (though that gap is closing all the time) the screens and tech specs are astounding for the cost.

This is interesting, my contract ends in march and I intend to move away from Samsung.. was considering the Pixel2 but given the £600 price difference. I don't intend to get tied to another 24 month contract, and at that price it's hard to ignore.

I've not paid more than £130 for a phone in the last 5 years and when I fancy a change I just sell on eBay or some such and get another.
Just thought I'd get one of these to see what they're like as lots of tech sites give them glowing reviews.
Only missing NFC for Android pay, rest is impressive given the price.

Wish that you buy a decent spec computer pad thingy at the same rate.

I'm a bit of a phone geek so like changing when something catches my eye. The phones I buy usually hold their value so it doesn't cost much to change. Plus my GiffGaff only costs £10 a month for more data and calls than I usually use.

All about the screen and camera. RED have the brand cachet and the technical chops to pull it off. Won’t be easy though.

This makes me think less of them as a camera maker somehow.

I think I hate diversified brands. I have zero interest in Rossignol food processors, Hugo Boss hedge clippers or Rolex food processors.

Truth, except the whole point of that phone is the screen and camera plus the bolt-on lenses which is slap bang in their field. Aha. A hahahaha.
