Tethering my bluray player

Post by Il Duce @ Fri Oct 21, 2016 11:51 am

I have shit satellite BB but I have excellent 4g on my iphone and it's quite cheap. I'm thinking of binning the BB.

My tv is not "smart" but my blu-ray player will connect to the internet via a cable to a router.

Is there any way I can tether my bluray player to my Iphone hotspot?

Thanks.

My parents used to use one on their old (no wifi) sky box and it worked quite well.

It's the most basic Panasonic so I doubt it.

Ah, right. That might have been easier.

I've just looked and I can get one with wifi for about £100.
Sounds like the way to do it.

Or a Roku, if you want all the channels.

I use Netflix, iPlayer and all that shiz on my phone which I then use a Chromecast to cast to the none-smart (hooli) TV. So if you have a hooli TV you should be able to plug a Chromecast in and do it through your phone.

Saying that though I ave an Android phone so not entirely sure they work with iPhones.
