Insecure Coffee Machines

That's great!

Who buys a coffee machine then thinks I wonder if I can connect it to the internet, then thinks I wonder if I can hack it!

Ok, it's the software running the machine that can be hacked, not the machine itself but still :hehe:

I think you mean unsecured. Who ever heard of a coffee machine lacking self-confidence? Mine is quite brash, frankly.

Oh mine is well insecure.
Woe betide anyone who has a cup of tea and happens to glance at it's sullen lost face.
Probably because it is a nespresso machine mind.

8 years.

Now it's not coffee machines, it's cars.

We've learned nothing.

I was horrified to discover you can now buy fruit tea pods for Nespresso. The outrage! Leftie infiltration!

Ah, was in their office today. Sounds like we're getting closer to having some tea available - there's only so much coffee I can cope with drinking in a day these days.

Reminds me a bit of that remote gadget to switch your domestic heater on and off from your mobile.

Dismissed as gratuitous gadgetry by anyone with actual busy, equally fulfilling and problematic, real world lives.
It's cruel because it presents itself as useful to some gormless buyers for at least long enough to get one. It plays on the buyer's notions of wanting to be iEverything, living immaculately in control of a Gattaca-type world when in fact they live in a house or a flat with such things as pavement, television, butter and earthworms all part of the same reality; what they thought useful and enriching is the heinous opposite, and turns out to only be of use to the kind of crazy twitchers who make for difficult, solitary (or at best insularly coupled) people overall. The rest of the world surely know beforehand, or realise within a day or two late of the return deadline, that if they are so busy/preoccupied/sexy /feckless to commit to the dull business of setting the heating timing at home, they are unlikely to be even remotely able (ha!) to do it when away.

And when along comes the time when it could be useful- e.g when they have gone off on holiday and forgot to switch the heating off- the app turns out to not be compatible with their current phone update. Or they forgot they bought the stupid thing in the first place.

Firstly why have you got the toilet as your coolest room? That is weird.

Secondly we don't have heating even turned on yet.

It'll be shit.

Every attempt to mechanise tea turns out to be shit. Tea machine? Shit. Instant tea? Shit. Tea in motherfucking pods? Shit squared.

Ha

But, BUT! it did have a catchy acoustic guitar tune.

You could be out in Surrey with Kermit, or shitting Cravendale onto your girlfriend, but with Hive you're controlling your heating at home.

It was the set temperatures that made me assume the heating was on

Still doesn't explain why your toilet is set cooler than the rest of the house

Erm. Set temperatures are the temperatures at which the zones will come on. It's a whole lot hotter than those temperatures. So it's not on.

Why do you have a particular proclivity for a bog that's a sauna?

Assuming you took that photograph during the day, the temperature may drop in the early hours so the heating would come on then to make it nice and warm for the morning.

Absolutely. Any room you work in should be cool.

It's not like Dirk to be petty over something so small.

Our toilets are at a cooler temperature than any other room in the house too.
