I managed it with a sea eagle once and it only took me half an hour or so.
I might write to him and give him some tips

Yes but that's a bald eagle. Anyone can get a decent shot of a bald eagle just flying along.
Its just your ornithological ignorance that makes you not appreciate the extraordinary calibre of that shot

I saw several kingfishers whilst fishing on Sunday, they're bloody great aren't they.
