bmw e36 325i convertible

Post by Me. @ Mon Apr 06, 2015 7:51 am

This is my 325i E36 which I believe to be an early press car ( My job at BMW was to prepare press and pre-production cars which is why I believe this to be the case).
It is the fourth month of E36 convertible production and is of a very high spec for that age. The spec is...
M52 Single Vanos 24V, Electric roof, Cruise control, Analogue Air conditioning, Electric sport leather seats both driver and passenger front (which I have only ever heard of once on an E36), original Clifford security system, CD player, Fog lights, remote central locking and alarm with both fobs, 11 button OBC (though this needs a pixel repair), Sport auto box with Winter/sport and Econ mode, 17" MV alloys which now have Yokohama tyres fitted.
When I bought the car the gearshift would stick in place so the lower valve body on the box has been changed and all fluids/filters replaced. The rear trailing arm bushes are new, the rear wheel bearings are new, the rear discs are new, the front discs are new, the front pads are new, the engine has just had a major service incl oil/filters/plugs etc.
Under the car is in excellent condition.....and whilst I was doing the bearings etc I waxoiled the car at the same time. There is almost no rust....tiny spots here and there, but the rear arches are clean, the rear lower boot sill is clean. there is one spot on the left A post which I will treat and paint, a tiny spot on the right front light trim. There is a dent on the left front wheel arch right on the lip of the arch and two tiny dents on the passenger door next to the rubber moulding and three scratches on the bootlid that have been previously touched in.
The paintwork is in outstanding condition after being mopped and Swissvax treated over a period of a month. The interior is not as good as the exterior due to the roof being left open for five years, but I have been treating and colouring the leather and it is coming back to the way it should look and is in what I would call very nice condition now.....but it would be better if it had been stored in a better environment. With further treatment the leather would be as good as the rest of the car, but by no means is it in bad condition.
Naturally there are stone-chips, slight dinks from shopping etc and other marks that you would expect from a 22 year old car and the roof needs to be stretched out as it was in the up (but relaxed) position for the five years. I have been treating the roof as well and the car will come with the balance of the Meguires Roof restoration kit to continue the treatment.
If you need more info then I would suggest you come and see the car for yourself.
I am not in a hurry to sell the car....it's only being sold to fund the restoration of my Alfa 145 Cloverleaf.
£2650.00 incl new mot. The invoice for the work done alone would be in excess of £1200 for new parts and labour.

Having got rid of the 525, I've got a BMW shaped hole in the hangar that would fit that^ perfectly!

Yep it 89K and paperwork to confirm. It's a rare car......the combo of the M52, analogue aircon, elec roof, cruise, and more than anything the elect seats make it a very hard car to come by. Sure there are a few small marks here and there, but all in all it's deffo one of the best.

That's true, JB is easily the most entertaining car buyer on here.

A few. In France
M5
Legacy Spec B
SWB Landcruiser
Citroen C1
325i Cabrio
MG-A
and an old massey fergusson

Singapore Nissan but I'm getting bored of that and looking at more appropriate vehicles for a city state such as defenders and landcruisers!
