BMW E36 Alpina B3 3.2 Switchtronic

Post by Me. @ Sat Mar 11, 2017 5:47 am

For sale in May......BMW Alpina E36 B3 3.2 Switchtronic, NO; 47/72 Montreal Blue with light grey leather piped in blue, blue carpets with Alpina over mats, 110K miles, Full original Becker stereo and Satnav (very early version of satnav but still works) Climate control, heated seats, correct valve less (Valve in hub) alloys, stitched Alpina steering with gear change buttons on rear. This is a Rare car and has the advantage of using the more reliable M52 motor in 3.2 form as opposed to the more expensive S32. With 265 BHP as opposed to the 195 on the original 2.8 motor it was based on....this is a pretty quick car....the 328i was no slouch. Sadly....the typical lacquer peel on BMW blue paint has appeared on the bonnet and roof so this is the reason for the delay until I paint them both. WTF is it with BMW and blue paint? They always have an issue with clear-coat lifting....? Only the blue.......Hmmmmm?
Car drives as it should but will be MOT'd and fully serviced prior to delivery/sale...and more than likely taxed and used by me for a while to....lol, as usual.
Not cheap, but rarity and exclusivity normally isn't. Once the paintwork is completed this will be an awesome car in stunning condition. BTW...I copied the pics from the Alpina Register as the car isn't ready yet, but it WILL look like this I can assure you.....and this IS the actual car.
£10995.00.

I'm not a BMW fan but Alpina style them so much better that I really like them. Looks a great car Me.

Wow! I drove one of those when they first came out. I was waiting for my e36 M3 and it had only just come out so they didn't have one to test drive at Sytner so they gave me a go in one of those. It was fabulous!

Like. We had one of those shapes as a 328 immediately prior to kids. I've always had a soft spot for Alpinas but hate the fact they've focussed more on diesels lately.

I suspect it's just me but I've always thought that was the last handsome 3 series. A bit like the E39 5 series. All just become a bit odd ever since.

I like the pre-facelift E46 too, before it was gussied-up in the first act of BMW vandalism by Chris Bangle.

For me the E46 is the last good looking 3 series. After that Bangle was given the pens and everything turned to shit.

I came quite close to buying an E46 M3 instead of the S8. Those were the final two left on my list.

The E46 M3 was fortunate to avoid the Bangle facelift because the cost of retooling for the unique M3 wings and bumpers was considered excessive. It just got some new LED rear lamps.

Cleaner lines.

I once saw an Alpina in traffic next to a 328 of the same vintage. The bodykit etc on the Alpina just looked so much less 'Max Power' it made the whole car look a class above the BMW.
