I'm happy to give people advice, and I frequently do. If I've helped anyone out, feel free to say so here, if you want to. Quick One then
Sale of goods act
buy a car.....
a thousand miles later the engine falls out.
I would like to think a phone call would have the dealer selling the car apologetic, and if not offering a full refund
at the very least, getting it repaired/replaced to everyones satisfaction

does this usually happen in your experience

sorry bit vague wasn't it,

used ferrari
6 month or 6000 Miles warranty from dealer
each job undertaken under warranty up to, and not exceeding 1000GBP

lets say not engine fell off thinking about it
but gearbox issues

warranty says "anything within the gearbox covered"

Fortunately, the situation doesn't arise too often. Dealers know that they have responsibilities and usually try to honour them to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, Court proceedings sometimes have to be issued, where dealers "don't want to know". .

The "thousand miles" that you mention. If they are over, say 5 years, then no claim. If they are within, say, a warranty period, then there is likely to be a case to answer.

If you want to talk about it further, then please pop over to my website and submit an email enquiry, so I can take this "off line".
