Yeah alright Dirk. Way to distance yourself.

If you want my fvourite then its Talisker.
Or for a blended Whisky, Baili, Nicol and Jarvie was lovely. Sadly now discontinued

I just think from what you said, Glenmorangie is a fairly accessible whisky to try next

Silliness aside, thank you. Accessible is exactly what I was after.

Haven’t gotten into Whiskey yet. Still burns and tastes like peaty medicine. Maybe one day...

I almost always dilute it with something (usually water) so it still has some heat in it, but not fire level.

I haven't touched whisky since my eighteenth birthday when I downed 2/3 of a litre of Maker's Mark in half an hour then shat myself while being carried home by two girls, followed by two days in bed with alcohol poisoning. I know that's probably just a standard Friday for Stuart but it's had a lingering effect on me.

Try Jamesons or Dalwhinnie, they don't taste like peaty medicine. I love whisk(e)y but hate the peaty horribleness kinds.

Maybe I’ll try again. I tried it with a connoisseur but I couldn’t appreciate it.

Bowmore and Middleton Rare are both pretty mellow.

I wonder how Mr Span is these days. Has Span locked him up in the cellar during a big Whisky sesh?

As I've saved so much on my new headphones, I think I'll get something nice on the way back from Jo'burg next week.

What's an unusual single malt that isn't so unusual that I won't find it in duty free???

Currently I've got a few different Bowmores, a Middleton Rare and a Talisker

Good shout. Highland Park usually available in duty frees and sometimes in quite rare expressions. Perhaps a Laphroaig Quarter Cask, too?

Span, when you are not brutalising your immediate family members try Tullibardine or Genmorangie. Quinta Ruban or Necta D'or are very smooth and great value.

I’ve just been given a bottle of Glenmorangie 10. Pleasant enough but a bit light and ultimately unsatisfying. Pale dram.

Yes, it's at the bottom of the Glenmorangie ladder.

I’m quite, quite pissed in fabulous Sligo, I’ve just discovered Jameson Crested and I commend it to the house.

It’s Monday. I’m drunk on a Monday. Christ.

It’s one of my favourite places on earth. I’m here every 3-4mths on business.

Guitarist in the bar is playing You Can Call Me All. If you ask nicely I’ll share the YT video of me doing Rapper’s Delight.

Christ. Sligo? What a kip. Nip up next door to Donegal for a proper piss up.

Good call on the Jamie, but I'm more of a Black Bush man myself.

I'm a traitor to my race. If I have a choice I will select a Bushmills. For a blend then Black Bush is the one to chose.

But TBH, back in racial stereotype, I won't refuse a whisk(e)y wherever it is from.

I too was Monday night drunk on whisky.

Glenmorangie 10 for me.

I reckon between MacAllan 10 (or ‘gold’ as they’d have it now), Talisker 10 and Glenmorangie 10, I’m pretty well catered for. All three very easy sipping and you can see off most of a bottle without too much bother.

I find the heavier more complex stuff is really just something you have a dram or two of at a time and that’s not much use - the correct way to serve whisky in company is to throw away the cork.

Drink it with a clear conscience like me. We're all love n peace, parity of esteem, cross-community cultural exchanges nowadays.
