Feeling somewhat reflective and this suited my mood. Leaving the office in fifteen minutes and will listen to the rest of this on the way home

I've been having a conversation with my dad on MSN and we've been swapping youtube links for French Horn solos.

But I was listening to Kate Bush in the car this morning.

I really envy people who can listen to music during the day, I hate having to work in an office without it.

On the way in to work this morning I was listening to Mr Scruff

Image

Last night I was listening to Them Crooked Vultures for the first time

and the gorgeous voice of Alice Russell

What do you think of this? Can't decide if I like it or not, although I like the work the 3 individuals do in their more normal day jobs!

I'm undecided on this too. Do these collaborations ever work?

Like everyone else, it's not as good as I was expecting, but then I had high hopes.

I thought it was very old school rock which isnt a bad thing. Maybe it needs a few listens.

I thought the same when I first heard Velvet Revolver's first album, but after a couple of listens I ended up really liking it.

Pelican. A vocal-less band who can be thought of as the intersection between Isis and Explosions In The Sky.

I'm trying to wake up enough to make some serious inroads into the mountain of work I have to do today. Starting the day with 'Don't Believe The Truth' by Oasis.

Shall probably dig out some Hendrix next.

:biglaugh:
I saw your name on this thread and knew you would be naming a band noone had ever heard of, but I love the way you also managed to slip in the bit about them being the intersection between two other bands that noone else has ever heard of.
I, for one, shan't be exploring that music.

Your loss.

Right now - The Cure in concert from 1997 on 6 Music listen again. Absolutely storming gig.

Just before that - Gary Numan + Little Boots live at Maida Vale (also 6 Music).

The sound of the blood pumping through my head.

Yes, I'm hungover.

Damn the landlord of my local for having Hobgoblin on.

I bought this the other day because of a post by CJ:

It's fabulous, it's a bit like Royksopp with Post Rock overtones. Great production too.

Before that I was mostly listing to more post-rock awesomeness in the form of Indicator by Oblong (not to be confused with obLONG):
