Long weekend for me too.

Region 2 (Chiltern, south bucks etc) will be safe as well.

Although i am sure they are missing my havock causing ability when i was a acting shift skipper on chiltern side. But glad to be back to a PC now (but missing the cash!) but not missing the politics.

I did indeed.

Im not a driver at the moment so being piloted around by someone else. Gearbox is no problem but it's the torque steer we constantly seem to get which is the problem.

Besides it will all be good soon as we are getting the fleet replaced by diesel(s) to save money on fuel (even though its the same MPG but more expensive fuel).

Hey and vauxhall even detuned them for police use as a favour!

And not picking up the paperwork for the area jobs either!

The cars are certainly a step up from the astra and with an advanced driver made it all the better.

As well as the "its all on video sir" rather than the "you havent got any evidence your word against mine lets goto court" from the person stopped.

Need to pass my driving and pursuit course though to stay on the department.

Also quite strangely the experience of being in L4 of the motorway dealing with a collision while everyone is driving past!

I'm fast roads and stop stick trained and it is strange having a lane 2 closure on the 34 with stuff whizzing by - esp. at night

I havent done a night shift yet, but the only one out is the motorway car at nights.

That would be surreal but also V dangerous!

Luckily HATO's seem to get there first and start coning off the lanes, thats not something i am looking forward to on a night, trying to chuck cones out without getting hit.

RPD are recruiting quite heavily at the moment if you wanted to move to the dark side!

Ahhhh the old op brake or is that ESDU1. And SDU2 is either the rolling arrest terminal or the new HC team?

I used to hate those SDU jobs.

ESDU2 is the live terminal and ESDU1 is the holding (read: Dispatchers) terminal. Nice easy progression to the role as I did a year in ST before the move Image

Different area have different setups it seems.

Ours is simply.

ASDU1 is where all Op Brake jobs are (bain of my life as a skipper), ASDU2 is the rolling domestic arrest terminal and ASDU3 is the Hate crime team rolling arrest terminal. (i think)

All good though, now it's not my problem anyway.

You perminant or L/Duties?

Full time which isn't such a bad thing. We have a different set up. No rolling arrest terminal nor any HC terminal. Just active jobs and those which need holding. SDU Officers deal with their own arrests and shift deal with HC inc arrrests.
ETA not light duties - they needed someone with Cr experience so I put in for it.

We dont have a dedicated SDU team.

SDU is allocated to shift officers, along with HC arrests and Rollign domestic arrests!
